Visit Big Sky, Montana

Tangram was brought in by Visit Big Sky to update the community’s existing vehicular wayfinding signage. The original signs did not meet MUTCD or Montana Department of Transportation guidelines, and their design made it difficult for visitors to understand destination distances and confidently navigate to key locations throughout the community.

The updated community wayfinding system needed to comply with MUTCD and MDT requirements, as the signs were located within the Montana Department of Transportation’s right-of-way. By working within the standards for Community Wayfinding Signage, Tangram created a compliant system that also incorporated distinct branded elements, including the blue and black color palette, mountain-inspired panel shape, and Big Sky logotype.
