Lakewood, Washington

The City of Lakewood is defined by its natural beauty, diverse communities, and extensive network of parks and trails. Tangram partnered with the City to develop a unified parks and trails signage system, including park identification signs, pedestrian wayfinding, and trail markers, to improve navigation, enhance the visitor experience, and reflect the character of Lakewood’s outdoor spaces.

The system was shaped through multiple rounds of review with the Parks Board and City Council to build alignment and support. The final designs balance function and aesthetics while prioritizing durability and ease of maintenance for long-term implementation.

Installation at the first 11 parks is underway and is anticipated to be complete in 2026. The remaining parks and trails will be implemented in phases over the next several years.
