2017 Young Designer's Summit (YDS)

Angela Serravo Partner Tangram Design along with Kelly Kolar Owner Kolar Design, Keith Davis Owner KRD Design, Bryan Meszaros CEO/Founder OpenEye Global and Julie Vogel President Kate Keating Associates shared their knowledge and experience on a panel discussion at the 2017 Young Designers Summit. Many of the young designers in the room got some very invaluable and real world advice on not only how to get into the field of Experiential Graphic Design, but more importantly, how to succeed in this exciting profession of Experiential Graphic Design. This panel discussion was expertly moderated by John Lutz Partner Selbert Perkins.

The YDS included portfolio reviews for those interested in having their work reviewed by some of SEGD’s top designers, owners and design directors. There were also structured Round Table Discussions to answer questions from our young designers about working in Experiential Graphic Design. There was even a SignAgent (software) demo table. David Jorritsma, Owner and Creator of SignAgent, was able to demonstrate his software to young designers on how his software can help make their professional projects a lot easier. Thanks David! luv SignAgent, great software.

It was a great opportunity for young designers to hear from owners and principals of some of SEGD’s top design firms on how to succeed in this exciting profession of Experiential Graphic Design as well as to meet other young design professionals who are looking to make a career in this discipline. We even had a special guest show up in the audience, John Berry, one of the original SEGD founders, taking questions and talking with the young designers in the room.

I want to thank the SEGD for creating this outlet for our young designers. It was my pleasure to Chair the 2017 Young Designers Summit. Most importantly, a big thank you to our sponsors of the Young Designers Summit: Harbinger, SignAgent, SNA, and Tangram Design. They truly believe in supporting the development and success of our next generation of designers.
